Our Mission

Our mission is to help individuals with special needs, and their families, achieve maximum potential and independence through an array of services.

History

Green Valley was born out of necessity over 40 years ago when a small group of very motivated parents decided it was time their children were given the opportunity to earn a pay check, just like their non-disabled peers. In 1968 the Dodge County Sheltered Workshop opened its doors on a tiny side street in the heart of Beaver Dam.

Since then, Green Valley has grown into a multi-faceted human service agency that provides solutions to over 400 families throughout Dodge County. A diverse 12-member Board of Directors oversees an agency budget of over 3.2 million dollars. Green Valley employs over 50 full-time and 25 part-time staff and is proud to provide the following programs and services.

Employment Specialist

DESCRIPTION
A specialized case manager, the employment specialist facilitates a full range of employment services to adults with disabilities, with an end goal of community employment in some form. This position may involve occasional evening or weekend hours.

RESPONSIBILITIES
 Develop individualized plans to meet client goals; review and update regularly per agreement(s) with funding partners.
Update case notes and DVR progress reports at least monthly; participate in staffings.
Receive referrals and responds by offering the most appropriate program(s) and services to promote client success; read, understand, and implement DWD 10-04-directed activities.
Communicate with job coaches to assure client progress and employer satisfaction.
Work with area employers to create community employment opportunities, temporary work experiences, and supported employment assessment sites.
Work well as part of a care team, including Client Learning Specialists, Client Managers and others, as well as those outside of the agency (for example, Care Wisconsin and DVR counselors).
Support regulatory compliance.
Other duties as assigned.

SPECIFICATION

Bachelor’s degree in a social services or related and useful discipline, and
Three or more years experience in the preparation for and arranging for community employment for adults with disabilities.
Significant knowledge about DVR, IRIS, Family Care, and similar programs and services available to agency clients.
Strong knowledge about and practical experience with the sales process.
Effectively use MS Office™, Windows™, and Google applications.
Valid driver’s license.
